Wildlife Illustrations

We'll experiment with colour mixing and brush techniques before we apply our first layer of watercolour. After creating our base, we use gouache to add details, highlights and texture.

Workshop Description

Date Saturday, 28th August 2021

Times – 10.00am to 4.00pm

The start of the day will be focused on technique, using different brushes to create textures of fur, feathers and scales.

We’ll experiment with colour mixing and brush techniques before we apply our first layer of watercolour. After creating our base, we use gouache to add details, highlights and texture.

I demonstrate each stage and then guide you in your painting as you develop your personal style In the second half of the day will result in an A3 painting of an animal of their choice.

The students won’t need to bring anything, just to wear clothes they wouldn’t mind getting a little messy.

Refreshments included

  • Tea and coffee and biscuits on arrival,
  • Lunch – Light Buffet Lunch, tea and coffee
  • Tea and coffee and cake in the afternoon
