Using various reference material and illustrations of wildlife to choose from as inspiration…
We’ll experiment with colour mixing and brush techniques before we apply our first layer of watercolour. After creating our base, we use gouache to add details, highlights and texture.
The day will start by focusing on techniques, using different brushes to create textures of fur, feathers and scales.
I demonstrate each stage and then guide you in your painting as you develop your personal style
In the second half of the day will result in an A3 painting of an animal of their choice.
The students won’t need to bring anything, just to wear clothes they wouldn’t mind getting a little messy.
