About Nicky Heard

Nicky Heard graduated with a degree in Ceramics and Glass in 1988, going on to become the Head of Art in Crofton School and teaching a diverse range of mixed media to secondary school students. After 25 years, Nicky left teaching to focus on her own art practise.

Nicky is a professional dry felt painting artist and teacher who uses different colours and textures of wool on canvas to create inspiring and individual work, on various scales. In some works she contrasts the use of realism in wool with the simplicity of line drawing in ink to suggest, through lack of detail and colour, the disappearance of our wildlife before our eyes.

Inspired by nature and the environment, her latest works look at endangered species.

10% of all sales are donated to the WWF.

Nicky works from a garden studio in Locks Heath, Hampshire, and all her work is for sale as well as some prints and reproductions. Nicky welcomes visitors to her studio by appointment only – please email to arrange a time.

Nicky has original works, prints, cards and mugs available for sale through her ETSY shop.
